Michigan honors all
resident concealed carried licenses, but
resident licenses only. If you live in Illinois, an Ill license is valid in MI. But if you have a non-res license from any state other than your state of residence, that one is
not. I live in WI, just across the line from the U.P. Before we had ccw licenses here (prior to Nov 2011) I had both MN & FL non-res licenses. They were NOT valid in MI. Since I got my WI license in 2011, I carry there all the time. I currently have WI & UT licenses. WI one is good in MI because I'm a WI resident, my UT non-res is not. My daughter lives in the U.P., I go there a lot, so I know the laws regarding this. Going there today... I have a valid turkey hunting tag, so I'll have a shotgun along too.
Also, MI is a "duty to inform" state. That means if you are carrying and intertact with any LEO, you must immediately inform them. Also note, you cannot carry in casinos.
