I was living in Oakland county. My CCW expires in Feb. What do I need to finish the renewal and where do I need to go?

Do I need to get refingerprinted?

Where is the county clerks office?

Any other helpful hints?

You say you were living in Oakland County. Did you move to another county?

If we know for sure which county you are in maybe someone local to you can help.

Each county has a little different procedure. Just go down to your local PD, and go to the place where you get your pistols inspected. They should give you a packet with detailed instructions and proper forms. As long you aren't in Wayne county, it shouldn't take that much effort.

FWIW, my CCW instructor mentioned that Wayne county is a PITA. But don't let the bastages get you down.

And DO NOT let it expire prior to re-application. You will have to start over again. I was not aware of that and went into the Clerks Office a couple days before mine expired - no hurry, just happened to be in that area of town and had the $105 he
I would have been cheesed if I had to go through the class again!

I almost made that mistake also.

I had two weeks to spare. Now I will have a short time without my ccw. I will feel naked when I leave the house

BTW - I re-applied around 08/18 and it JUST came back last week. Picked it up 10/14! Whew! Almost 2 months of feeling half-dressed!
