Now that you mention it, I haven't seen one here in west TN in a couple of years. Second only to the mockingbird for being loud and annoying when they nest outside your window.

I've had them in my yard in NW TN for years. I miss hearing the whippoorwills and quail I heard growing up in middle TN.

See them all the time. Several come to the bird feeder daily

I've seen 2-3 around here, just east of Memphis, in the last 3-4 years.
