Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Kayak training/classes for complete newbs in middle TN?

My wife mentioned today while we were passing the Sportsman's Warehouse in the Boro that she'd like to kayak but knows nothing about it or where to start, how to do it, etc.  Are there any good classes or clubs or groups or anything that caters to complete newbs and shows them the ropes?

Check out Tennessee Scenic River Association.  They have classes they offer, but also have meets up pretty regularly from what I remember. Life's gotten busy so I haven't been a member for a while.
