I recently started a thread in the AR optics section asking if it was better to have an ACOG or a aimpoint Micro if you only have ONE AR. One good suggestion was to compare the two inperson & see which one feels best to ME. So..... any suggestions on a Mid-TN gun shop that would have few different models of acogs & Micros in store for me to finger, I mean compare? In my experience it is kinds rare for a local shop to even have ONE of these much less several acog models to compare.

Thanks, Bill

i doubt you will find a gun store with either, much less both.  possibly outpost near murfreesboro?

if you're in the cookeville neighborhood and let me know in advance, i'll bring both to the range for you to look at.

Guns & Leather had some Aimpoints, I don't know about ACOGs. Just get an ACOG and put an Aimpoint on it.

There are a couple shops outside of Ft. Campbell that I would bet have both.  One is named Quantico and the other is ATS.

Outpost Armory, exit 89 off I-24, SE of Murfreesboro...I believe they had both in stock last time I was in there, a few weeks ago.

I have both.  If I could only have one, I'd pick the Aimpoint first.  It's more versatile and it works better with NV optics than the ACOG does.  And if you ever replace it with an ACOG, the Aimpoint can be moved off to a variety of guns.

Franklin gun shop is another choice that would have them in stock.

+1.  Go in and talk to Rick and some of those guys.  They have a wide variety of Aimpoints & ACOGs, not to mention Trijicon scopes, NightForce, Eotech, etc.

Go see them off Exit 89 on I-24, they'll take care of you...

Nice selection at both stores. Also On Target in Murfreesboro should have a few.
