Welcome! I moved here from GA about three years ago. It was a very good move. I’m glad I chose Utah. I think you will find that most folks you meet are good people out here. Of course there are some exceptions but overall, Utah is a good place to live.

Im in bluffdale. There is a nice gun range at the mouth of provo canyon but i usually go to tnt in murray to shoot this time of year

I'm just over the mountain from you in Draper. I only occasionally shoot up here. I usually go when I go see the folks down in Fillmore.
And Gunnies is a good place. I bought a Ruger SP101 there many years ago. |

OP, you're a few years late in getting here, shooting outdoors on public land on the west side of Utah Lake was the best (and worst), but that's pretty much shutdown now. There are a few slivers of BLM land that it is still allowed on, but its kind of a PITA IMO. |
