Everyone else has a tacked thread like this. So I thought we should put one up for Idaho shooters/members. Moderators, can we get this tacked? And lets try to keep this adhering to the subject and not get sidetracked (to much).
I live in Boise. Been in Idaho for the past 35 years. The first 7 of those years I lived in Twin Falls. Moved there when I was 10. |
Yeah lets tack this one.
Live in Boise, only been in the state a little over three years and love it! Moved here from Nebraska a week after my high school graduation. |
Im from Ririe live close to the snake river and have lived here all my life fifth generation on this homestead.
Boise...been here the last 22 years (born here in fact). Been all over the country though as I'm a Navy brat but I came home as this is where all the family started out from.
Now I work at the VA hospital (they wouldn't let me serve one way so I'll serve another). |
Born near Sacramento Ca. spent lot of time in the wine country/northern california...got to Boise in '96 (as fast as I could.)
Live in Pocatello, but currently in Virginia. I will go ahead and say there are at least two other hard core AR guys in Pocatello that certainly should be on here.

Back in Idaho again, Sandpoint this time, hopefully for good.

Hey fellas, I have a few ?? reguarding SBR/SBS/ Form 1 laws in ID. I will be retiring from FT Lewis soon and will probably be moving to Twin Falls. Can anyone let me know what the attitude is of the CLEO is around there?? Anything that I should know before I make the move over there?? IM me so I don't hijack this thread, thanks a bunch.

Duh,,,,,I kept looking under the "I'" for Idaho, finally found it!
I live between Priest River and Priest Lake. I'm off the "grid" but with solar, batteries, generator, have all the normal stuff most have in the cities. Moved here permanently three years ago for Seattle area. Boise would've been a close second too, but I already had land and a house here. Almost moved to Libby, MT but happy right here. I noticed there are a couple of guys form CDA and Sandpoint. Where is the closest range around here?? I usually shoot on my property, but lately, it seems there are more people around all the time and I don't have a surpessor. |
Wells there's Farragut state park in Bayview, see MATT45's thread. To the best of my knowledge theres a range in Sandpoint, although Ive never shot there, dont know the location or requirements for use. I shoot handguns at the house and rifles at a friends who has fewer neighbors and a much larger/safer range. Might be one over around Newport also. HTH |

I live in Idaho Falls. Lots of desert nearby to spread some lead contamination.
Thanks NWred.
If there was a rifle range in Sandpoint, that would be perfect. The state park might be a close second too. I have heard there is one somewhere between hwy. 95 and 41 before one gets to CdA. I usually go to CdA via 41 since it is a more direct route. Sounds like, I need to plan a day of shooting no matter where it happens to be from me. Damn tourists.......in my area. One good snow and I have my range back right where I live! |
Boise now, but Garden Valley this summer (fingers crossed!) We've lived here for about 15-16 years. Moved down here from Post Falls (ID).
Grew up in Idaho Falls. 8 years in MD & MA , now living in Meridian and working in Boise.

Hey lived in oregon for 12 years moved to AZ for 4, and just moved back, but living just across the boarder in Payette. If none of you know where that is I am not surpised. But here.
I'm at Wazzu right now but will be returning to Post Falls in 3 weeks until I find a job.
Eagle here. I was buckarooing out in Eastern Oregon, but moved here the beginning of November. Need to find a good range that will let me shoot tactical (i.e. hammers, from the holster, etc....)Anywhere in the valley is okay.
#2 question, If anyone knows of a decent MMA school around can they PM me with details? I'd rather find a group working on this area while integrating weapons into the mix, or start one if anyone is interested, but would settle for a solid MMA school. Thanks |
Where do you go shooting? |
Lewiston...No Ma Duce though. I'm trying to find out what the best route here is to get NFA stuff. Right now I'm thinking an LLC to expidite the tax acceptence quickly.
Pocatello here. Like to go shoot up 2 1/2 mile. I'm hoping to put togeather a shoot there this coming year (2006). We'll see what happens.
I just recently moved to Hayden (CDA area). I just came from Eastern Washington so I didn't have far to go. If anyone in the area wants to go shoot let me know.
do you ever go to Hayden creek area at that gravel pit out there? Fernan also has full auto shoots and tactical competitions ocassionally as well at that Center Fire Sports in Post Falls. Maybe I'll see you at the gravel pit some time...
Black Creek and Parma are two gun ranges that have regular full auto meets...Boise has a very large number of Title II owners. Ponderosa Sports in Horseshoe Bend has a fun store to visit.
CLEO signoff is trivial to get in Idaho. |
I'm in CDA and go to Fernan. Open 24/7 and lots of privacy, shot anything you want, just clean up your mess.
Guess i'll quit lurking and start posting.
