Ok i need a rifle and i need it before december. I'm trying to decide on the POF complete P415 or if the AXR is out by then i may get that instead. Anyone have exprience with the POF gas piston upper? And is it as reliable as they say? like the HK P416?

The SAR 3 is gas piston operated.  And I just happen to know where to find one for sale.

Uh..beings how it's a spin off of some OLD shotgun ad, dunno.

In this case, it is the song, not the singer

I personally like the plain jane AR. =) Cheaper and available immediately...right what you asked. No extra piston parts required.

This is a POF product?  You sure about that?

If you have a genuine Carbine. I would recommend the ARES drop in kit.

Works rather well for 4 hundred smackers.

I know ARES has a reputation but somehow they managed to deliver that part instad of the SHRIKE.

Not sure about that one, but the one that they have been offering for the last couple of years has been a POF minus the hard chrome on the inside of the receiver and bolt.  IIRC POF calls it the CROS (corrosion resistant operating system)

The newer POF has Nickel finish and not exactly the chrome originally. it's supposed to be even better than the original. Say operates without any lube. But i'm sure i won't do that. But the AXR package is very nice but can't shoot .22's for fun. hmmm.. what to do.. what to do...

Re: the FN, this is just my opinion, if you love it, don't flame me, this is just how I feel about it!

I've had a chance to hold and shoot a mag through the FN, and it reminds me of the time in collage I "took one for the team", if you know what I mean.  Not the worst thing I ever held on to, but not exactly worth bragging to your friends about either.

Yes. Note the same gas block. It's been known that these are POF style uppers (along with DSA) for a while.
