Bought a Ruger #1 in 458 Win Mag..... The more I look at the the cartridge and the gun the more nervous I get.... Now I know how the sheep feel when "The Pirate" walks into the 4H booth at the fair. The prior and only other owner fired it five times and he bought it new in 1976..... This might be a good one to let a friend shoot first....
 But for 4 hundred bucks I couldn't pass it up...   |

458 Win are great. You will NEED a good butt pad. And watch out for scopes that bite. The muzzle will rise considerably on those. It isn't as bad as a 460 Weatherby though.510 grain bullets make rocks into pebbles.

Did you get 1/2 box of 1976 shells to go with it? that looks like it'll be fun... you need to start re-loading to feed it. LOL |

As a matter of fact... yeepers I did... Box or 20 SuperX missing five.... Still has the price sticker on it $26.40 haven't looked to see what they cost now...... If it ever stops raining down here I'll see what it can do to a bowling ball or ?
