First off, thank you all (I think about 8) people who helped my G-ride through the snow at this last Saturday's shoot.

With me shooting in the mountains more, skiiing, etc. I'm looking for something that will actually cut it in the snow. As expected, the performance oriented All-Seasons on my Infiniti do okay up to about 1". Afterwards, it starts sucking, especially with rear wheel drive.

Now before anyone mentions chains, I agree. Unfortunately, hardly anyone one makes chains for 235/45/18's and none that won't scratch the crap out of the rims. Of course there's the bolt on "SpiderSpikes" but for the cost of those, I could have a full set of snow tires, cheap chains, and steelies.

So, I'm looking for some snow tires, but as most of my time is spent in the valley, I'll need them maybe 10 times a year for about 1000 miles/year. I'd rather not buy anything brand new.

Anyone know where I can pick up some decent used (say ~50-70%) snow tires?

What size are your wheels?
I have a set that was for an Escort - complete with rims.

Did your vehicle come with the 18" wheels from manufacturer or are they aftermarket wheels?

You could probably move down to a 17" wheel, if those are stock 18" wheels and your calipers will clear. If this is the stock size, you won't as many options as you would with a stock size of 16", let alone the cost factor, sorry man. You might check the Nickel Ads, some tire store might have what you need laying around, never know.

See above. 235/45/18. Stock wheels for this trim. The other models come with 17's.

I think I've found a better solution though.

Man i'm sure you cna pick up a set of chains from the delership they might be a bit spendy when compared to regular ones you can pick up from a parts store but probably cheaper then buying a set of used snow tires in that size + the cost of swtiching out the tires on the rims every season...

and i highly doubt you can find steelies that would fit your car.. not without them being off of a truck... like i said fit your car..
