I have a manufacture lined up to do the lowers and to get a final price quote they need a picture.
Can some one draw up an outline of an AR15 in the center of an outline of the state of Oregon with "TEAM" above and "OREGON" below? Post it up or email me. It's going to be a great price. Mike |

Can I get it as a pistol lower?
If so, I'm in for two (pistol and rifle), if not I'll just get one. |
There is no difference between a pistol and rifle lower -- except that the pistol lower must never have been built into a rifle. So any new (from the maufacturer) lower can become either -- but once it becomes a rifle lower (basically has a rifle stock installed) it can never go back. |

Has to bee 4473'd as a pistol.
Picture looks good! Does everyone like that? |
You have to write in PISTOL OR RIFLE! |

Didn't you tell me in another thread that it has to be originally documented by the mfr as a pistol? Also the drawing is good, but will the engraver be able to do that kind of detail on the AR? Maybe it should be simplified. Also, no mention of AR15.com? |
I can do variations on the picture. The one catch is that the AR illustration is most likely copyrighted and I'm sure this doesn't fall under fair use. With more time I could come up with my own illustration. I could try a simpler illustration of the AR.
I didn't think about the AR15.com part. Should that be on the illustration, or would that be on the other side of the magazine well? Depending on the price, I might take two lowers. I would certainly be in for one. |
Picture looks great.
That level of detail is fine. I'd prefer a M4 in there but I like it! The picture is fine, "ar15.com" might not be. |
Try it, I'd like to see it. I'll also IM staff and see if we can have AR15.COM on it. Might be nice to have an outline of Oregon, the words Oregon on top, an AR of some sort in the middle of the state and Team Oregon on the bottom. |
Now ur lernin sonny! |

I like it! I might like to see a different font for the Team Oregon. I'll see if I have one closer to what I'm thinking of.

Sorry, it's not STAG. |

I like the first one, with AR15.COM over it. I don't think the image of an AR would be under any kind of copyright, ref recent decision on Colt V Bushmaster.
Can I get one with a different caliber designation? I need a dedicated 458SOCOM lower. That would put me in for 2. |
+1 on the M4.
Might reduce the font size a bit on the "Team Oregon" or as WS4LIF said, new font. RotorDemon - Love the SHTF idea. I would guess that everything comes with a price tag. Are we going for a cool, custom lower or the cheapest lower on the market? Great idea - Let's make this happen. |
snsindustries?
just have ar15.comXXX serial numbers and have team oregon on the mag well w/ no mention of ar15.com. |
Agreed. |
+1 I would also recommend no weapon outline. After reading the posts here for almost a month, it is my humble opnion that we we never all agree on what model of weapon to have displayed. |

can we get it w/o the AR and maybe a pic of a tactical purse on there?
Is the MFG still a big super secret? |
The biggest point to bear in mind is that everything needs to be line drawings - large areas of "color" (as in the TEAM OREGON words can't be represented easily if you want this engraved.
So just lines, no large block areas, half-tones etc. It might be possible to do varying width lines, but that would add to the price. KISS |
Oh I would like to see a AR outline in the logo, but which one? M4, A2, Flat top, 16", 20", Clean or with "toys"
I wouldn't care and dought many here would either....just cool to not have an atomic symbol or a gay deer's head on the side of your lower.
A2 M4? Please correct my dumb arse if I am wrong, but the A2, and the M4 are to different versions of the AR15/M16 Weapons M16 A2 Colt M4 Generic AR-15 Information |
Thanks WS, yes I meant a M4A2, in other words an M4 with an A2 Carry Handle. NO aimpoint or PEQ garbage, bare bones, stock cock M4 rifle.
I agree. Count me for two of whatever we come up with. |
I am interested in a lower or two as long as it is not ~SNS~. |
I like it!! |
Is the bottom of the state crooked like that?
I think it's perfect other then that. |
I'm not sure about the shape of the state -- I used a USGS map that listed counties and I removed everything and then used Photoshop's stroke to get the outline. I suspect that some images of the state have the state's borders simplified.
Or you can look at it as a metaphor for CA pushing into our state. I'm not entirely happy with the way the M4 looks. It's like trying to draw a hand. I couldn't find a manual with a nice line drawing to "borrow." |
