In 2002 there were 9 unintentional firearm related deaths and 64 firearm related homicides in the state of Oregon.  In contrast 461 people died in motor vehicle crashes, 343 people died from accidental falls, and 199 died as the result of an accidental poisoning.  

That’s right, in 2002 you were more likely to die in a car crash, accidental fall, or poisoning than due to firearm related accidents or homicides.   You were more than 6 times as likely to die in a car crash than due to firearm, almost five times as likely to die from a fall, and almost 3 times as likely to die as the result of a poisoning.  

Perhaps Ginny Burdick and her anti-gun friends should focus more on the true killers in this state: cars and ladders.  Wouldn’t you support a ban on all ladders and motor vehicles if it meant saving a life?  No?  Well what about a ban on fast cars and tall ladders?  They really are the most dangerous you know.

Get out there and protect your rights.  Vote, write your legislators, and talk to your friends and neighbors.  Only you can stop the gun grabbers.
