Revelation arms will do it for $50.
Gotta catch him in the evenings, he works limited hrs. I had him do an SBR just a little while back and just dropped it back off for threading and getting a 3-lug adapter put on. I specifically asked him about chopping and threading a post-ban for a friend thinking about doing the same thing you are. |

Roger at Revelation does nice work and is a fun guy to BS with. Tell him Rick the BBQ sauce guy sent you. He'll get a kick out of it,but don't expect a discount. 50 bucks is a fair price. I have a lathe and the die and would need more than what he wants,plus he will have the tool to crown the end.

I talked to a booth at the gun show, the AR assories guys from Olympia WA and was told $45 to thread AND it included a Phantom if you sent them just the barrel.

I just dropped my AR off to a guy named brian in tigard. He is working on it right now. Barrel threading for $40. If anyone is interested I'll post his email for ya'll.

no - that is an SW5 that I had SBRed. Then I had it threaded and 3-lugged. Just an example of the work over at revelation arms. Most of the guy I know are running the ASA uppers for pistol caliber carbine. with the drop in block and the modified Uzi mags. with the ban gone, maybe colt mags will be available again. |

Sorry GackMan, I got the your post and OregonARfan's posts mixed up.
Is the SW5 an HK94 variant? (An HK kit built on their reciever.) Barrel length less than 16"? Looks almost full sized to me. What does 3-lugged mean? |

The 3-lug barrel is the standard HK attachment method on their MP5s. But under the AWB is counted as threading since it was designed to put a suppressor on the gun.
The rifle originally had a 16" barrel - it is now about 9.5" long. I actually started looking for parts over on this thread. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=9&t=176590&page=1 I just posted in here since I had the work done at Revelation Arms. |

Yes, but a person can't breathe in his shop for all the cigarette smoke. Is he a chain-smoker? I had to stop going to him for transfers because the paperwork took longer than I could stand the air. But yes, very nice guy. |

Just picked up my upper from Brian in Tigard. Everything looks good. Flash hider screwed right on and the upper looks just as when I gave it to him. A couple more parts for his shop and he will be able to install new front sight posts with the lug.

If I wanted to have the barell cut down and have a flash added on to 16"....how is the permenate install normally done? Can it be done and still look good?
