What: rifle and pistol competition, night vision allowed
When: Sunday, September 19th, 2021 10AM-5PM, camping overnight on Saturday allowed Where: Angry Emu Range near Madison, GA (see sticky thread for details) It’s time for another Redwolf 2 Gun Challenge. This will be “open” class so you can use rimfire or centerfire. @Redwolf started these a few years ago and they've always been a great time. We will start the morning with a safety briefing, range overview, backstop and target check. We will run 5 stages per shooter. As far as course design goes, I am open to any suggestions. As we've done in the past, everyone is encouraged to offer suggestions. Bring snacks, drinks, chairs, canopies, etc. as needed. Feel free to ask any questions or make suggestions. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to stay overnight the night before for campfire chats, check out NODs and camp if you want. Course: Shoot and move - multiple targets 5-150yds for both rifle and pistol. There will be some changes from the past as far as carrying slung rifle and holstered handgun since it’s 22lr and centerfire, to make the course equal. Simple scoring of total time for each course with missed target penalties. Probably some exhibition shot to level the playing field between marksmanship and athleticism. Equipment: Eye and Ear protection. Any legal rifle and pistol. Who: Any safe shooter, family and kid friendly. Prizes: Bragging rights, a good time, and the elusive trophy Cost: Free, donations to the range are appreciated. This will also be a “meet and greet” if you’d like to come out Saturday evening & Sunday afternoon to spectate, chat, check out some night toys and enjoy a beverage (after guns are stowed and never near the firing line). Rain or shine we’ll be there. There are two outhouses on site and running water. You may also shoot whatever else you’d like prior to starting if you need to function test or sight in a gun since you’re making the trip out. So come out and get your heart rate up a little while shooting with nice people. I'll be there.
Probably not Saturday night, I've got my final drill for a CERT class I'm volunteering for all day Saturday. I should hopefully have a gun my friend ordered to zero. Also have new SOT goody to bring with me. |

Likely in for Sunday.....Not sure about the night before.
Will confirm prior. |

Best chance in a long time to be there…working the UGA Saturday night.
So I’ll need to get some trigger time to relieve the stress from dealing with drunk idiots when I volunteer for side gigs. It’s different when I can drink with my fellow idiots. ETA Any one have a 300BO suppressed SBR? And can bring it? I have some Remington 220gr I would like to shoot. |

If anyone has an aimpoint T2, could you bring it? I want to see how usable it would be with my astigmatism.

It was a good time today and nice to see some new faces. The trophy is crossing borders again but hopefully we see it sooner than last time it left.

Thanks to everyone who came out today and to @Emu for graciously providing the venue as usual. I'm liking the pistol only stages we've been doing lately. I'm going to bring some full size paper IPSC targets for the next go around.
Who all was from SC today? I know billytehbob is along with today's winner. I may have to start posting in other state HTFs like @Redwolf did in the past. |
|
I was in from SC.
Winner is not an SC guy, it's still in GA!! Great day. Thanks guys. |

Great to see everyone again.....
Glad that there is finally some competition ; ) When I told my kids I came in 2nd, they reminded me that 2nd place is really only 1st loser. (Which is a win cause it just means they're being raised right....) For the folks that were asking here is a short vid to address some grip issues that were affecting accuracy. Travis Haley on Handgun Grip Hope to see you all out there again soon. |

I've got a new Griffin Explorr 6.5mm silencer on the way and some different taper mounts. I think the brake is coming off and flash hider/flash comp going on. For research and development purposes of course. |

I was there in spirit….body and mind not so much. I worked the UGA game the night before and was mostly ok when I went to bed but felt like dogpoo when I woke up. I couldn’t get to far from the bathroom. I had all my gear laid out in the garage ready to go. Ammo for Nick’s noise maker, 300BO to try. Even 308 & 6.5credmore.
Always a good time there. |
