Quote History Quoted:The state patrol has lasers as do many counties . You can thank State Farm for starting that trend. State Farm "donated" the first lasers used by the state patrol. I am sure they did not raise rates of customers who got tickets with those lasers.

Now that is just nefarious. Lasers weren't around when I wore a badge but I've since seen them in action. Unfortunately, from what I've seen, if your detector alerts on laser it's basically just telling you to get ready to sign the ticket.
Mine only went off a couple of times in OK. Both times were PD lasing cars from an overpass. They had a whole string of motorcycle officers parked on top of the overpass with one officer (he had a car) remaining stationary running the laser. When they tagged someone speeding the first motorcycle in line would peel off and chase that car down. Then when he was done he'd come back and get to the back of the line. That way they could tag a staggering number of speeding vehicles as fast as they could lase them. Pretty clever I have to admit.
Fortunately for me, both times the laser got me I was doing the speed limit. First the detector made the laser alert it scared the crap out of me because it's a way different alert than the radar bands lol.
