I think there are a bunch of us with Garands, Enfields, 03A3s, etc, that don’t shoot them much. I have an M1 carbine that I have not shot in 10 years.. I would love to get together and have a historical shoot. Bring out your Mausers and 1911’s but leave the AR’s, Glocks and AK’s at home. Maybe meet up at Emu’s range this summer ? (Provided we clear it with him and follow all of his guidelines) Any interest? |

Y'all chime in and let me know if you want me to make this a thing and we'll organize it here. I'm all for it. |

This would trigger my extreme jealousy of folks who own these awesome guns.
I already own an 1873 Springfield trapdoor carbine (cut down) and a Colt LE6920 (restricted rollmark ) so I just need a Krag-Jorgenson, a 1903 Springfield, an M1 Garand, an M1 Carbine and an M1A to complete my dream collection. I have a super sweet STI Elektra .45acp 1911 but it would stick out like a turd in a punchbowl around WWI & II guns lol. So please do this so I can watch!!! |

I'm good with it being at the Angry Emu whenever y'all choose to get together. Sounds like a cool shoot!

Sounds like fun to me, I would make the drive out to the Emu range for that.

Quoted: I'll bring the 1919 if I can make it View Quote I may drag out my 1919 (semi). It’s a 308 IZZY kit..I had some reliability issues with it, so any tinkering advice would be welcome Any dates or weekends in mind? I does get hot as balls in the summer, but that’s why there are canopies??. I have a CMP Garand O3A3 Victory 38 M1carbine Enfield I am hoping to have my CMP 1911A1 within a couple of months, when my number comes up |

I typically try not to schedule multi-day events from July to August because of the heat/camping sucks and most people won't attend for more than a day. There's been some interest in a belt fed shoot and I was thinking of scheduling that for some time in early fall but am open to suggestions. We could combine the two since most beltfeds are going to be earlier guns anyway.
I'm at y'alls disposal. Just tell me what you want to do. |
|
I'm definitely in for a shoot like this. I've got a few surplus guns that I don't shoot often enough.

Early Fall would be great...
I have a Sten that might be approved by then... Maybe mid/late September ? |

I'm still good with it being at the Angry Emu if y'all are so inclined. I had hoped to put together a Fall Shoot this year. Bearing in mind the fall MOA Shoot at GaHunter's place, I'm open to whatever schedule works best for the HTF. We need to try not to have more than one event per weekend. Fall is such a GREAT time to shoot and be outdoors here in GA, the weekends get filled up pretty fast! If y'all would prefer the Fall Shoot become more of a Winter Shoot, no problem. Last year we had the big night shoot event deep in the winter, and I'd love to do that again. I'm thinking this might be a good time to start penciling in some future event dates of all sorts. Is it possible to have a GA HTF calander that we could start listing all upcoming events in the state? I've done a shoot that ended up competing with that big machine gun shoot that I've never been to. We lost! No surprise there!
It's just a slightly alcohol induced thought that solidified as I typed this. Is it possible to have some sort of calander that we could update, or have updated, with firearms related events in the state, or even national stuff, like the Shot Show? I think I'd use something like that, just to know what might be going on, as well as when and where; all in one easy to find spot. (But would likely be a HUGE chore to manage! ) Anyway, just a thought..... Edit to add: it would be great to see all the dates for the various Cola Warrior events, gun shows, Appleseed shoots, Run-n-Gun shoots, etc., etc., on one easy to find calander. Ok, ok, now I'm rambling.... |

I don't keep up with most events except the ones I can attend or am organizing. My free time lately has been near zero because of work, also. I think we need to start putting things on the calendar starting in mid-September to beat the heat. If we can get dates nailed down I'll make an events thread and keep it updated so long as you guys tell me what/when. |

A pinned thread where people post event dates, then our "lazy mod" can stick them on some sort of calander in the first post. |

Tagging. 1903, 03A3, 1917, Garand, some WWI era 32s... maybe my CMP 1911 will hit by then (doutful).
