Multiple friends have said they plan to deactivate, delete, or abandon their various social media platforms in the near future.  I think that is a mistake.  I think our goal as a free speech loving people should be to turn Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter into the equivalent of MySpace.  Simply deactivating or deleting your account is a minus one.  Like the arms race that is college football recruiting, the goal is to get more and better players to commit to your team.  So think of this plan as recruiting for social media.

For every platform that you currently use, you should sign up for the corresponding "free speech" platform.  Then begin using the new platform like you would the old platform.  Like posting pics of the grand kids playing tee ball on Facebook?  Post it on MeWe.  But... and here's the key... every time you post on MeWe, go back and post on Facebook too.  Post, "Hey, little Johnie just made a kick ass play in the outfield.  I posted the video on my MeWe account if anyone wants to see".  Basically click bait but for social media.  Before you know it, you no longer have to go back to the old platform because all your friends are on the new platform now.

I agree and I'm doing the same thing, except I can't get into twitter so I won't be messing with it even though I'm on parler.

It also singles you out as a conservative simply by canceling the account. Dont think they are not tracking this...

Just don't use it.

Can’t they just look at public record voter registration? I deactivated mine. Only logged in once a week for a few months prior to this. I’m not missing anything.

I agree, you can't retreat off the other sites, by all means supplement with alternatives, but leaving altogether only hurts you and your cause.

Be polite and do your best to provide your perspective on issues.

I have friends and family that are deactivating, I am staying on all of them just to keep up with other viewpoints. Also very interesting to see which posts / tweets / articles are "promoted". Most are targeted for selling stuff, but since last fall there have been more than a few clearly promoted for propaganda.

I have long since held the belief that my page posts on F -B were shadow banned.

Post a picture of the kids......150 likes 40 comments.

Post a regular status update OR something with a mild slant to the right......Crickets.  ZERO interactions (and the majority of my connections there are like minded)

While I am going to stay on to monitor and get news, and for a few key groups, I am in the process of purging content, "friends", and info....

Still have my page but I have not been on it in over five years. Facebook is designed to isolate you and keep you isolated along with instagram and all these other types of social media

Agreed for the most part.  I did cancel my Twitter and IG (never even posted).  I post on FB like once a year because my wife says I have to say "thank you" to family members who wish me a happy birthday

Conservatives need a platform independent of the big-socialist-tech, and I think we are moving in that direction.  Think of all the large firearm/accessory retailers and 2A sites that are currently at risk of getting cancelled from their platforms or host-sites.  Parlor is a great example.  We need our own, invested by conservatives.  If done right, that would dry up many of the current social media sites and advertisers would see their revues drop.  In fact, I would have every fucking advertiser sign a pro-Constitution agreement.  Free speech is fine, but the cancel culture crap has to go.(me

I'll sadly keep my Facebook, only because my wife said so until something as functional (MeWe?) comes along and she can start encouraging her family to switch. I do like the idea because once you start linking to competitive site, the beginning of the end will have started.

I've made the decision to switch over to MeWe.  It will take a couple months, but my plan is to just duplicate my FB profile on MeWe, get my pictures pulled over and once I'm set, I'll just give a 30 day notice of FB cancellation on my page and link to my new MeWe (almost said WeWe) page.

I don't use Facebook, my wife does.  She'll be a little pissed, but she can update family and friends that I'm on MeWe.

When I finally get ready to cancel my FB account I may just post #STOP THE STEAL a few thousand times

It's easy for me, it's hard for others who are in groups, use it for business marketing, etc. I do think we need a big "FB-EXIT" movement and dry up a majority of their revenue.  Go woke and be an asshole, Go Broke.

I get the whole "intel" aspect, but honestly, it will be so restricted, even the enemy intel will be fake. I prefer to remove their power by hitting their bottom line...I think it ties into the OP's strategy, but at some point this year, I'm going to just delete my account.

Do be careful.  I currently have a job with a higher-level clearance and during a few interviews before accepting with my current company, many asked for my Facebook and LinkedIn profiles.  Some may think this is a breach of privacy, but if I was an employer, I would scrutinize employees as well.  Your business is your product.  Some businesses have decided to side with the extreme left and socialists, but for some occupations that would raise a red flag.

Hell, our good friend's son was interviewing at Chick-fil-A; he's a high school Junior and the employer asked about an incident that occurred when he was in middle school that was discussed on social media from several other kids who work there.  Your cyber profile and identity needs to be carefully scrutinized and not only for OPSEC, but avoid ignorant perceptions.  More than a few in my line of work don't even have social media...

Problem isn't just a platform, but web server/provider that still believes in the 1st amendment. I agree we need our own and owned by conservatives and or libertarians that believe in the Constitution. The problem with that though is you see what happened to Parler. They got shut down HARD, not because of what anybody posted, but because they were a threat to Facebook, Twitter, and Amazon. Those four companies need to be broke up because they have a monopoly on the internet.

The one thing that I do know is that Conservatives need to get their head out of their asses and see this threat for what it is. A clear threat to the Constitution and to our way of life.
