I don't know guys, I have dremel before and it still makes me nervous. I hate to completely mare up my rail. Id like to have a clean cut.

with the top quality parts you got there, I think I would pay a little $ to have it done right and like you said have clean lines. I have used the dremel for many of my own projects--but for this I would go pro

I have been using the thin quarter size disks mine came with. It was too slow so i just took a hack saw to the fsb on my 5.45 and cut it down. Now looking through the 1.25-4x is useable! On a rail that will be highly visible, I would also want it done right! Either someone with steady hands or proper tools, preferably both I'm just a garage hack myself. I just had Accurate Ordnance in Winder do some mill work for me.

I cut a notch in my Troy Alpha rail so the Noveske Switch Block would clear. Mine is a 20" SPRish setup. It turned out "OK". Will try to post some pic's over the weekend. Not recommending that OP do this. Usually not doing as I do is good practice. OP, will the FF tube slide over the Switchblock now (i.e. without the slot)? If not, you're going to have a heck of time putting it together even with the slot.

You could always just drill a hole where you need it. Start small and work your way up.

I could prob sand or file the edges abit but it would only need tio be done on the side section cut out. He left a little edge ledge on the top of the picatinny but that won't snag. |
