A quid is slang for a British pound, kinda like us saying "5 bucks". Currently, 1 British pound is worth approximately $1.601878, so 5 quid is $8.00939.

ATF spokesman Richard Coes said the weapons include assault rifles he described as "AK-style." He declined to discuss other aspects of the case.

WSB said this A.M. that it was believed they were military style rifles, possibly heading for a military base, and that the authorities didn't know where they went missing along the trip.

Actually, I knew it was a joke when I replied to it......thought I'd keep it going. Guess not everyone got my joke-on-a-joke. Sorry, I'll be circumspect in the future. I'm actually in the UK right now, which is why it jumped out at me. |
