I know some of you dont frequent the GD forum, but I wanted to let people know that there is a legal fund for him. He has refused a plea deal. We all know that he should have known the law before going to NYC of all places, but maybe he had a crazy idea that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and the Bill of Rights applied to all Americans.

ETA - I think this puts NYC in an awkward spot. PERHAPS they dont want to be seen as being insensitive to a Vet. If this gets enough attention, maybe it will work in his favor.

Back before the internet made information so easily-obtainable, I illegally carried a handgun in my vehicle in Chicago.  It just never occurred to me, having been raised down heah on Tobaccy Road, that an American would be prohibited from owning a handgun or carrying a loaded handgun in his vehicle.  

Fortunately, I didn't get caught/prosecuted and only discovered that I'd behaved illegally after-the-fact.  

On-the-other-hand, I left a loaded G21 in my then-18-yr-old son's glove compartment, even though I knew that GA law prohibited it.  I weighed the chances of his ever having his vehicle searched vs. the consequences of his being attacked by an uncivilized tribal savage DemocRAT.
