OK this thing is driving me nuts. My eyesight is going to shit but no matter what this SOB shoots high. What am I missing. It's a poopy ncstar 1x30 from optics planet. I want it to be accurate at essentially 20 yards for brain dead aquire, aim, bang, dead. I have the horizontal less then a 1/2 inch off but the vertical jesus I crank it down click click click and it shoots in the same gd spot. Are my eyes going that bad? Am I losing my mind? Is it broken? Helllllllllp

I bought a NCSTAR and put on my son's Hi Point carbine. You could watch the dot move when you fired it. I would try another optic

This is just for fun shooting? Primary Arms maybe?

Throwing it on the ground should work.

You could try turning it over to see if it shoots lower.

Sometimes NCStars work, sometimes not. Sounds like you got the not.

POI should be low when compared to POA at 20 yards, not high.  See above to fix problem.

+1. LaRue and I learned a ton from Erik (USSA-1) and Todd (00-Bullet) from the class. Maybe those guys can chime in on this. Erik even has a paper out about optic placement and such.

NcStar is getting better but if you bought from optics planet you may have gotten an older optic that has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere. Box the optic back up and contact NcStar send it in and get a new one.

Try shooting a five shot group from a bench and see how wide your pattern is. If it several inches (at 25yrds), get something else.

I'd get another optic if I were you.  The Bushnell Trophy MP is a good low cost alternative that works well.  If you choose to stay with the one you have, get a couple of strings and tape them on the end.  Turn the scope off and use the strings as cross-hairs.

send that POS back and get our money back.  Then get one of the primary arms red dots you can not go wrong with them.  Great products and even better customer service.

Also avoid Simmons, Barsaka, BSA.

Scope the EE for a used older model EOTech or Aimpoint. They usually come with a mount.

This is really good advice.  Buy a good optic the first time and you won't regret it later.

+3 for Primary Arms.  Very solid and good quality for the money.  Give Marshall a call and he will assist you getting the right model for your needs.
