And ammo's dirt cheap...Big bang, low coin, lots of fun...followed by lots of cleaning.
Toss in pretty decent accuracy, low price to buy one...but I missed them on AIM for $99.95. *sigh* |

Appear to go from about 90 to 150 for regular, up to almost 600 for sniper. |

600 is for a non original sniper. Possibly worth it if done nicely (I have no idea how Rguns look) post war refurb 91/30 + new made PU scope.
real ones are $$$ (and with the repros in the market you have to know how to validate real 
I still need a Beaver Chewed receiver model, should be able to find one one of these days..... |

In fact, two screws that hold the receiver to the stock wiggled loose a few weeks ago. Ended up squirting some loctite in there, and it's fine now. Other than a very slight discoloration on the bayonet from firing the gun with it extended, it looks brand new still. I shoot it much more than my sar-1, simply b/c it eats ammo slower, and it's honestly more fun.

Don't forget the Mosin's Finnish brother, the M39
The M39 is built on Russian Mosin receivers but with much better sights, barrels, stocks, and triggers. They are very accurate rifles. Best of all you can buy M39 rifles with pre 1899 receivers that qualify as antiques(Considered NOT to be a firearm by Federal Gov). You can have it shipped direct to your home address! Having my C&R, I just got my dealer catalog from Southern Ohio Gun, they have Hex receiver nagants in excellent cond. for $79, other ones in excellent shape for $69 and they have Finnish models for as low as $239 for a VKT. Its worth getting your C&R, they also have Yugoslavian tt-33's and Romanian tt-33's. I like my two mosins, both made before 1936 and refurbed later but I love my mausers.

Ah the C&R Bug... I miss the days of $49.99 Shipped Czech White tipped from AIM for the 880 case and finding $49.99 91/30's and M38's. I could kick myself for not getting a M44 then too. I picked up about 5 or 6 Nagants. Flame suit on, I took one that was in really bad shape and sporterized it with ATI stuff. Because they're so cheap, even now at nearly double the price they're still a bargain.

$50 only gets you 100 rounds at walmart now... if they have it. Wolf is $300 a case online right now 
I sincerely hope that one day in the future we return to cheap(er) .223/5.56. I would love to be able to take the AR to the range and not thing about all of the money I'm leaving in the backstop. |

Anyway, Forsyth County Pawn gets 91/30's in stock fairly often, call them up. Other than that I'd go with AIM or SOG. |

I had to get hex receiver ones and round ones too when AIM had them for cheap. M91/30s, M44s... I never got the M38, though, because I was holding out for one in an original stock that didn't have the bayo groove. What a mistake that turned out to be. Should have gotten the cheap (like $80) M38s in M44 stocks when I had the chance.
At least I did buy a few thousand rounds of 1980s Polish silver tip at ~$80/880 shipped, though. That and the cheap Golden Tiger AK ammo I stockpiled from Cope's a couple of years ago are my "shoot for fun and not worry about how much is left" ammo supply. Mosins rock, and they're not for girly men. Shooting one of the M44s all day means one black shoulder.
