If you don't vote and Jim Martin wins, it's all your fault.  Just so you know.  And, the Democrats are sneaking that 60-member filibuster-proof senate in sideways.  The news reported they didn't get it after the election, so everyone stopped caring.

Ted Stevens' Alaska seat went to the Democrat (they finally counted the votes, I guess).  Al Franken is getting a recount in Minnesota, and it is expected he will win as well.  If Saxby loses to Martin, they have their 60, and they can ram legislation through to Obama's desk unopposed.

I'm not sure if I'm going to vote.   I don't want to vote for Saxby.  Why?  Because:

1) He supports Amnesty
2) He never supported gun owners/businesses that were under attack by Bush's ATF
3) $700B pissed away paying off Paulson's buddies
4) $5T liability for our children
6) Ag Bill
7) $4/gallon of gas - gang of 10 antics
8) Increases in HB1 visas and farm worker visas

So tell me, how is Martin any worse.

Frankly, I'm looking forward to the O and so are my investments.  Bush/Saxby have destroyed them intentionally.

I don't want to vote for Saxby either.  I'm going to, though.  Do you want the Democrats to have 60 seats in the senate?  Do you like the notion of an unstoppable majority?  Do you like liar Jim Martin who lies about the Fair Tax so much that they actually list him on their Hall of Shame?

I didn't vote for Saxby in the general election either (Buckley), but now is no time to screw around.  I'm sure he got the point, and he's going to shape up now.  If not, we can dump him or Isuckson next time.

I also vote every time the polls are open.  last local election we had I was the 100th vote in my area.  I got there at 1830 :(

honest question here, Obama was the reason so many dems came out to vote last time and they paid allot in advertising to get them out.  do you really think they will have a big turn out on the re-election?  I heard Osama say to go out and vote early you don't want to chance that your alarm won't go off and you will sleep through the presidential election.  knowing it took stuff like that to get them out do you really think they will come back out?

I don't think the re-election will be close at all.

I'm not scared of an O' presidency.  His ability to pull us left is severly limited by how bad W and his band of idiots (including Idiot Chambliss) have screwed us.  

Mark these words .... Obama will persue a JFK path of tax cutting and tough on defense.  He has too.  He has no options.  Come four years from now, he'll win re-election by a landslide because the economy will recover and we are out of Iraq.  I project that the Dems will have a strangle hold on government for another 8 years.

With that in mind, is having a Dem in the Senate better for Georgia than a Republican?   I would think a Dem is better so we have access to power and the O has to protect a member of his party.    $700B Chambliss will be an outsider.  His pathetic influence will be further reduced, much like my 401K.

Martin will be so far down on the totem pole for Dems. He will have no pull. Saxby can at least vote against BO and Reid.

As for Iraq, that campaign is won. The surge has defeated the local AQI and the foreign AQ terrorist. Our presence in Iraq will resemble our presence in South Korea.

NO     I'm not that convinced of my position.   I thought W would do good but he has turned into an utter disaster.  Shite ...he knows better.  Its like he quit being a leader 6 years ago.  W has been especially horrible in the last several months.   Paulson should be shot for his stupid $700B plan.   I wouldn' t be surprised if Paulson was an Obama plant/stooge.

True story about Philly.  My grandfather was a mucky muck in the Dem party.  On election day, they put all of the union guys on buses and transport them to all of the polls.  Occasionally stopping at a bar for food and lots of liquor.  My mom estimated that he probably voted 30 times during the day.  

Here are a couple of kickers.  They rode around in School District buses, never had to wait in line, and were allowed to vote after the polls closed.   In Philly, they know how to steal elections.

i just don't understand what all the hype is about.  saxby has sold us down the river for the last 6 years as noted above.  more than that, it doesn't matter if he is re-elected or not. with the dems this close, are you telling me there isn't 1 rino out there that won't swing the vote?

Everyday, the market plunges and Bush Idiots are on TV is another 0.25% advantage to Martin.  My wife is an excellent predictor of elections (many years ago she was a moderator of focus groups).

How is Martin worse?  I guess you haven't been listening to his lies that pass as campaign ads.

1) His Securities Exchange Commision REFUSED to investigate proven instances of naked short selling.  Why?  To protect Paulson's buddies who were doing it.  There were stocks that had short interest of over 100% of its float.

2) His Treasury Secretary running around like a chicken-little screaming depression depression.  I'm sorry but that doesn't inspire confidence in a time where confidence is needed most.

3) The feds refusal to lower interest rates when Asia did its first plunge.   Even Cramer recognized a problem when that happened and told his minnions to get out of the market ... which so far was a great call (so unlike Cramer).

4) His plan to throw $700B randomly into the economy.  Plus the $5T the Fed is on the hook for.  So much for fiscal discipline.   Its amature hour at the Treasury.   Until they shut up and stop doing what they are doing, the market will continue to collapse.  

5) His Commodities Futures Commision refused to increase the margin requirement for trading energy commodities from a rediculously low 10%.   Think about that leverage.

4) His EPA prevented the construction and expansion of Refineries and completion of Yucca Mtn. nuclear storage site.

5) He refused to aggressively open up land for drilling the US and refused until recently to lift HIS executive order bannin on offshore drilling.

6) His people jacked around with Iraq's oil industry instead of having US oil companies take it over and run it from day one.



In college, we had a motto ... ban mining - let the bastards freeze in the dark.   We'll see what the O does.  I doubt he'll destroy his re-election chances destroying the economy.

Look folks, this is the last time I hold my nose and punch an R.  I didn't vote for Saxby, I voted against Martin because his fellows pissed me off with their blatant lies about the Fair Tax.  I'll be voting against Martin again in the runoff, but that's it.  I'm done voting for either of them unless they can show me a reason to vote *for* them again.  Not reason to vote against whomever is running against them.  Both sides have shown they are wiling to fuck us blind and I'm tired of it.  The way I see it, both parties have been steering this country down the wrong road.  One of them just prefers to hug the other side of the median than the other.

If Saxby wins, I'll be sending him and Isakson a letter to that effect.

I served with Jim Martin in the Georgia state legislature and would like to offer a few thoughts on Mr. Martin's candidacy for U.S. Senate before the vote on December 2.

During our time in the legislature, the U. S. Supreme Court threw out prayer in school. Georgia was enacting a "Moment of Silence" alternative and I wrote an amendment that specifically permitted student-initiated prayer at school and school events (which was permitted by the court decision). We wanted to make absolutely certain that school administrators and lawyers knew this and felt the cover of state law. When Rep. Max Davis presented the amendment, Jim Martin, oblivious to the values of Georgians, voted against it. He then voted against the entire bill. Thank goodness it passed anyway so that our students have religious freedom.

I also co-sponsored a bill in the Senate that made English the official language of the State of Georgia. It passed the Senate and reached the floor of the House. Jim Martin was one of the few "NO" votes.

Jim Martin also voted to eliminate mandatory minimum sentences for drug dealers and voted against making the most violent criminals serve their entire prison sentence. Criminals in our society should be punished for their crimes, not given an easy way out. Ten years should mean ten years! To add insult to injury, Jim Martin was the only member of the Georgia House to vote against making it a felony to distribute illegal drugs within 1,000 feet of school property. In Mr. Martin's world, criminals are the victims and victims are the criminals.

In addition to these issues, Mr. Martin voted for what the largest tax increase in Georgia history, opposed Zell Miller's successful welfare reform efforts, and recently called the middle class a "state of mind."

Georgia has had both Republican and Democrat U. S. Senators. But we have never elected one as liberal as Jim Martin. Democrats like Mr. Martin may claim to work for the middle class and Martin himself may claim to want to work for Georgians, but based on his history, I would warn Georgia voters to be very, very cautious of what Mr. Martin says. After watching him vote firsthand, I know what he truly believes.

State Sen. Eric Johnson, R-Savannah, is president pro tempore of the Georgia Senate.

I felt that same way when I voted for McAmnesty and still do.  I'd really like to stay home and have sex with my wife.   If I'm going to get screwed, I'd like it to be with the one I love.

I hate that the NRA is involved.  Now the race has become a test of the strength of the gun vote.   If Saxby fails, then we lose alot of our power and juice with the Republicans.    A Saxby loss could ripple out and weaken GeorgiaCarry's efforts with the the Senate Firearms Study Committee as the gun vote will be demonstrated to be impotent.
