how far of a drive is it out there from Atlanta? I might have to make that trip all depending on what time they get started in the am and how far of a drive it is.

It is about a 2 hour or so drive time. They usually have sign-up starting at 8:00, Shooters meeting/safety briefing at 8:30 and first shots start at 9:00am

They have a great facility and put on a challenging and fun match.

I was back at my house in Gwinnett having a drink by 8:30 last night, but I usually stay overnight in Alabama.

Steel City range is about 10 miles south of downtown Birmingham.  It's about 170 miles from north side of Atlanta, GA.  Remember their time is 1 hr. behind us (on central time).

I shot about 250 yesterday. Now that I'm shooting optics I don't fling so much downrange

I usually leave real early just because I like to arrive in plenty of time, and you lose an hour when you cross the border. I'd guess you could leave at 6:00 our time or so and still make it in time depending on where you live.

Im in Duluth ..... so I reckon 6 would be a viable time to leave ... but that guarantees that I wont have a passenger to ride with me cause the woman damn sure aint getting up that early

If you are in Duluth, I'd add about 20 minutes to the drive time. I live in Dacula.

Yup, its a manly rifle......dirty and unforgiving. Not a rifle for ivy-league pansies like Obama.

A rifle of grit and substance,of character and hard work ethic.

if you shoot the hostage there is no one left to tell lies about how many rounds it took ...... kill the hostage and then go for the rest I say.

I cant say much ..... during Joes 22lr 2 gun match I put 5 rounds into a hostage, cost me 25 seconds.  Not like I was competitive but I had fun shooting it.

I have only got to shoot 1 of those matches at Joe's (always a freaking schedule conflict on my end).

But 200 should do it. I would still give Joe a shout just to be safe.

Bummer that I have enough ammo left over to shoot the Creekside match but will be out of town that weekend.

Figures.

And it won't get anything but worse with Obama in the white house!
