Glad your ok, get that neck checked out by professionals. Could wake up in a few days not be able to move! Anyway, glad your ok. No real suggestions on what type of wheels to get, always another BMW.

Thank God you were unhurt. I didn't know you were around Roswell. Hmm, maybe we should get together sometime.
Older maximas (95-99) are cheap, fast, and reliable (aka "poor man's beamer"). They go around $5k to 7k. I'll let you test drive mine for the feel if you want to. And yes, I survived a 65 mph frontal collision without a scratch and it still...runs  God be praised.

I know. I have been thanking Him all day! With tax season starting, my schedule is going to get even crazier, but breakfast or lunch would be good. Maxima's are ok, but I can get an older 5 series BMW for that much. The nice feature of my old BMW was the all wheel drive. That car was fast, fun, and I couldn't make it slide. I have been thinking about buying an SUV lately........or maybe a new truck. I like the older body style Toyota Land Cruisers (91-95), Jeep Cherokees, and Ford Super Duty's...........but I can't decide so I thought I would ask for ya'lls opinions. Accountant |

325IX ETA: After poking around on autotrader.com, I have found a 535I for $4,500 and an Landcruiser for $9,000. Hmmm.........I will keep looking. |

Wow. Sorry to hear that.
The EXACT same thing happened to my girlfriend March of last year. She was sitting at the traffic light @ Holcomb Bridge Rd. & GA 400, and some guy in a Toyota Tundra hit her from behind at nearly the same speed. She had a stiff neck for a few days as well. When we looked at her car (99 Honda Accord) it didn't look all that bad. It ended up being totalled because the unibody frame was messed up. The guy had insurance with Progressive, and after the inconvenience of the whole thing, she got another 99 Accord, with less mileage and leather. Hope you find what you are looking for. The whole deal sucks, but it's life I guess

I have a 94 Grand cherokee, 5.8, auto with full time 4wd. Runs great. I got it for about 6300 out the door. At less then 11000 miles in 04. If I had it to do over I would have searched for one without all time 4wd. But other than that no complaints. It will hit 95 on the interstate with no hesitation and you wont even know it. Very strong engine and tranny.

Out of the 6 streetbike wrecks and 2 car rollovers I've been thru over the years I can tell you this..
Make sure you go get some xrays.. It will hurt like hell the next day and sometimes worse the following.... As for the vehicle I would recommend something with a 5.8 v8 or the 4.0 six... I am not a real fan of 4wd.. I did auto parts for 6 years before bike stuff.. One thing that stuck with me was that the 4wd units that are used for street use are simply twice the drivetrain to break. I will say that they are nice for off road use but.. Have a commuter and then an off-road vehicle is the best deal.. Get a 4 wheeler(atv) and a 2wd commuter.. I like the jeep cherokee you have a lot of room and its one of the few non trucks that still has a frame... just my.02 ( did I mention my wife works at a jeep dealeship)  Speed. |

Out of what you mentioned I would get an F250 4x4 with a powerstroke. That would be the truck for me if I had my choice. Used of course, because they have gotten so dang expensive (and they do hold there value pretty good). Next would be the Land Cruiser.
Depends on what you want. Big difference between those two and a little BMW. |

I am going to hold off on the x-rays. I hate doctors..........and every time I leave the hospital I feel like I need a shower. My neck is hurting but I am hoping the Icy/Hot patch I am using will help. The Tacomas are too small. The Tundra's are nice but the towing capacity isn't great. The F250 is what I need for hauling and towing but the gas mileage sucks. The Grand Cherokees are nice but you can only get the V-8 with the full-time 4x4. My old truck needs replacing too so maybe I can get rid of 2 vehicles and buy one. Any other vehicle ideas? Accountant |

Check out 4Runners. I like the older model LC's as well, but they're gas guzzlers. 13mpg+/- for the mide to late 90 straight 6. The mid to late 90's 4Runners have good power, lots of options, and th 3.4L V6 is reliable.

Since you are now a fan of German engineering, and based on your requirements of 4x4 or AWD, used, and straight 6, I recommend a nice Mercedes-Benz 300TE 4-matic. The M103 inline 6 has decent power and fuel economy, and relatively long service life. The w124 chassis is a blast to drive and holds the road nicely. The rear should have hydraulic self-leveling suspension, in the event you ever toss a couple cases of ammo in the back on the way to the range - you'll never know they were there by how the car handles. You should be able to find lower-mileage well-maintained examples under $7k.

A few years ago I had some xrays of my neck taken and found out that my spine is actually curved the wrong direction due to some rear end accidents I had many years ago. I have alot of trouble with my neck now.

Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic highway cruisers. Tons of power. Gobs of it. They also have the same hydraulic system in the rear as the 300TE. If you find yourself seriously interested in a MB, drop me a PM. I've got connections to several people who can find what you want - including an AMG-tuned 560SEC. |

I have owned BMW's for over 20 years and have run a shop that is usually 100% BMW repair, I would suggest another 325iX unless you need the room. if you need any help or other suggestions, feel free to ask away. The 535 is a great car that has an engine ( as you probably know) that is known to go 300,000 miles with proper maintenance. I've got an M5 that has 200,000 but I wouldn't rec any M car for most folks.
My wife wanted more room than I could get in a BMW, so we bought an 03 Tahoe with the 5.3Ltr, it will get 23mpg on the highway FWIW. An 2000 or a 2001 wouldn't be too bad in cost, but around town, they will drink gas. |

There are 2 problems with getting another IX. First the parts are a bitch to find and second the vehicles are hard to find. I looked on the autotrader website and I could only find 4 for sale. I am leaning toward the 535. Are there any issues w/ these vehicles that I should be aware of? Thanks, Accountant |

Standard BMW things, Brake Shimmy( usually repaired by replacing the ball joints and or bushings) Driveshaft ujoints. Cam lobes can wear if the oil tube has loosened ( should be checked everytime the valves are adjusted) .If it's a manual trans, listen to the trans with the car idling in neutral. Car should feel tight in the corners with no rear end wiggle or steering( could mean rear bushings are weak).
