Hello fellow Georgians!
I am digging around for information about the reserve officer or deputy programs in the metro Atlanta area. Frankly, I'd love any info that anyone has on the topic! I know that Fulton Cty Sherriff has a program, I think that Tucker and Duluth PD do as well. I've tried to contact Fulton Sherriff about their program, but no one seems interested in returning a phone call or email...
hereHere is why I ask...
Once upon a time, I put myself through the academy (all the way back in 95)... And then I began seeking out a department after that. In that time, I managed to get married, worked on some technology projects. Short story is, that marriage went in the toilet(she turned seriously against LEO work for one thing), and I earned a very nice bag of coin in the dot com industry. So I never finished the goal that I set for myself, and to this day, I regret that.
hinking.gifThat being said, I'm now at a point professionally that I do not need to earn a paycheck from LEO work, it is something I'd LOVE to be a part of in some manner. And right now, I teach close quarter stuff to quite a few LEO's, and it is on their recommendation that I get into a reserve department, which can facilitate teaching to law enforcement on a larger scale.
So if anyone has any guidance, it would be very much appreciated. Guidance plus a personal contact or two is even better!
