I have a lot of old powder and pyrodex that I just don't trust anymore.
Is there any place around Cobb you guys know of that will take if for disposal?
I tried the sherriff's office b4 I left La. but they would not longer take it b/c their stockpile was getting too big.

Thanks.

I have about a pound + that I need to get rid of as well.

Anyone have a creative (legal) way to get rid of it??

Thanks in advance.

Mix it with a few gallons of water?

Water sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

Smokeless gunpowder is an excellent fertilizer.  Spread it out on your lawn.

The pyrodex is flammable. Just burn it.

Thats what I do. When I pull ammo apart I usually just throw it out in the yard. By morning it's totally useless.

I always pour it (smokeless powder) into small piles or into a skinny line on a rock wall or on the driveway away from anything that could catch on fire.  I then light it and watch it burn.  Just don't make a big pile or the flame will get kinda high.

+2 on the fertilizer

Just keep the piles of Pyrodex very small!

spread in the dirt and torch it, doesn't explode, makes a nice flame and lotsa smoke though

I used to pour small quantities of power on my concrete driveway and torch it, smokeless powder burns HOT!  I'd whip out a bunch of ammo, run out of bullets or powder and decide to switch to another powder, so I'd have an ounce or two leftover to torch.
