Are you gonna make it to the C.E. shoot on the 26th? I know it may be aways but atleast it's towards you and you wouldn't have to drive anywhere near Atl.

How do you like Georgia so far? My wife and I have plans when I  retire, to move to Georgia. We are in Maryland now...Real close to Camp David in the Mountains! Where in Maryland are you from?

I'm from the Eastern Shore, over near the beach...  Georgia is nice, but damn, I have never lived so far from the ocean before!!!!

I used to live on the beach in North Carolina. I know what you mean.

Have you seen/been to the Gulf(Emerald) Coast yet? It is only about 6 hours away, but it sure is nice. White soft sand, clear blue water even when it is chest high. Wow.

ETA: I always went to Myrtle Beach growing up in South Carolina, but that greay gritty sand was yucky.

I used to live in Pensacola, but haven't been there in 20 years  (Damn, I am OLD!)  Since I have lived here, I have been to Myrtle Beach once, Charleston once, and twice to Savannah.

I need some OCEAN!

I moved from Annapolis down to NE GA about four years ago. I definitely like the laid back atmosphere and the country. My dad still lives on Kent Island, so I do make several trips a year, especially to go fishing. I do miss the bay but I can tolerate the bass fishing until I get my saltwater fix

Man I really need to get a team membership to see what I have been missing out on

I don't go home often, but I have to make sure to get in a trip for some beach, and some fishing and crabbing.  I also LOVE going to Assateague!

I grew up only an hour from the Gulf in Mississippi and while in the USMC I lived in Atlantic Beach, NC. But when I want to go back to the beach and can't make a run I just throw in some Buffet and go sailing back.

I was at Myrtle Beach late Sun.,Mon., Tues., and Wed. last week for continuing ed. Beach sucks in the winter. Wind was blowing so hard the whole 4 days it whistled through the cracks in the hotel room door. Had to stuff towels in the cracks to sleep.

Sometimes the winter is the best time to actually enjoy the beach. I hate tourist. I do not visit heavy Tourist beaches. You can't see the beach from all the hotels and condos built on it. Give me the North Carolina beaches where it's more local than most.

Virginia Beach used to have a 4 day block party every September when we kicked all the tourists out  for the season and the locals reclaimed the beach.  It was a blast!

It's always fun when the locals can reclaim the beach!
