No, a single dump won't cook your tube, but 2 in a row and that baby will be laying on the barrel. Take my word for it or try it yourself

Cool video. I remember you walking the line looking for another gas tube back in March. Did you burn one up last weekend too?

This happened just after Shawn (Cavalry Arms owner) inserted the third C mag. He was testing the handguards without heatshields.

I had plans to make the last shoot, but I own a tree removal business and we've been slammed with all the recent storms. I hope to make the next spring shoot.
BTW-The gun was already was already warm when I started the 1st dump so it was extremely hot after the second dump. My cheap plastic handguards with heat shields also suffered some minor damage. TD |

thats a pretty cool video, if you look towards the end, there are flames coming out with the expended casings.

The 100 rounds of .223 was about $16.50 and the gas tube was another $15.00 or so. I guess the grand total was around $31.50 but it was worth every penny
