What rifle are the soldiers currently carrying in Iraq? Does anyone know from top to bottom. I heard a lady at the show telling some fella that the scope he wanted was real hot because that is what the soldiers were currently using. I know dumb question. But I am a Maxpain

They got them there M-16s. One bullet from one 'em 'll take a fellas head clean off. Seen it myself in 'Nam when I was wif Speshull Forces.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. You hear all kinds of crazy crap at the gun shows. What kind of scope was it?

I've seen pix from the sandbox with a little of everything. Are you wanting to know manufacturers, configurations, accessories or what?

BTW, no such thing as a dumb question.

Not sure. I was passing by and heard the lady telling some people that story. She was making it sound good. Could have been a sales pitch. Just general stuff. I thought m16's. But wasn't sure on scopes, etc. Look like some may have grenade lauchers on them.hought

sights vary aimpoint, ACOG, EOTech etc

There are lots of guys who are issued plain jane A2's who decide that they need to add things themselves. In my unit we had an NCO who wanted to but a Night scope on his A2, he ended up using some jerry rigged contraption he got at a gunshow, it worked so the 1SGT let him go with it.
