Go to court! I wasn't there for a speeding ticket, but for having an improper tag. However, I witnessed about 25 people plead guilty to speeding and wanted to pay their fine right them and there and got 10 mph knocked down on what was reported. So if you were doing 20 over, you would still pay the fine for doing 20 over, but only 10 over would show up and you won't get any points against your driving record!

If you just go pay the fine, that doesn't happen! Go to court and get the speeding reduced!

Also, don't know how the other judge that normally runs the show there does it, but the judge that filled in for him today decided that after he took all the guilty pleas for speeding tickets, he would then take all the "jail" cases. These were people that wre already in jail and would be going back to jail after they left the court room. He took ten friggin cases sending them all right back to jail before he started taking not guilty pleas for traffic tickets and other cases.

Took him less than 10 seconds to look at the letter that I had from my county's tag office saying that they had made a typo when transferring the tag to the current truck and apologizing for any inconvenience it has caused me for him to dismiss the case. Had to sit there for 3 friggin hours for what only took 10 seconds!

Maybe that was the other judge he was refering to when he was addressing all those people that were already in jail. He kept saying to the guys, "If judge Brown was here he'd send you right back to jail for 6-9 months. You're lucky I'm here today."

I just thought that maybe the knocking 10 mph off the ticket was standard with the other judge also. Maybe not.
