I’m in Asheville for a little bit doing some things. I first came here back in 2000 and loved this place. I came here now and see nothing but homeless people, garbage, syringes on the ground, blue and pink haired “people”, and people walking around Walmart with ankle monitors. What happened to this city?

Unfortunately the Asheville plague is spreading to all the surrounding counties. It gets worse every year, I’ve worked on both ends of Lexington Ave over a period of years and the decline is stunning.

It is a shame, when I was a kid Asheville was an amazing place to visit and shop and eat. Now many people myself included actively avoid going to or spending any money in Buncombe county.

Liberal city government that is afraid to say no to the fringe groups. That's why I'm running for City Council. I hate that is FaceBooger, but that's been the best way for me to spread the word.

Mom just moved to Madison county, and so far it seems unaffected. We too used to spend a lot of time there, and I went to WCU over in Cullowhee a few decades ago, but now I refuse to stop and visit.

Wife and kids were up in WNC Easter weekend visiting our families. They rode through Asheville at one point. My 8 year old was going: "I see more homeless. There's another homeless guy over there. There a homeless over that bench."

Born and raised in Hendersonville and Asheville wasn't bad a long time ago. Liberals ruined it like everything else. I work off sweeten creek and just pack my lunch every day so I don't have to bring a part of all that mess.

For however long it lasts downtown Greenville is worth the extra hour drive. I used to spend way more time in Asheville since I live at the state line. Now I don’t even bother with Asheville aside from Bold Rock and Sierra Nevada occasionally. It’s a shame what liberals have done with their broken policies

You guys have me worried now, I'm heading to Asheville next week for a long weekend with the wife. We had heard so many good things about the place but maybe those experiences were years ago.

I would avoid downtown unless you want to have people ask you for money ever 10 steps. It used to have a lot of cool restaurants etc but I don’t care for the ultra woke BS. If you’re a beer drinker hit this year Nevada brewery or the bold rock cider place. There’s a ton of others I just haven’t had time to visit everything myself. Hendersonville has a nice little downtown and so does Brevard. As much as I talk shit about Asheville I still love the surrounding areas. |

Went to a specialist vet in Asheville. Went to get in my truck to leave and saw this.
 Had to take a pic to remind myself of why I don't frequent that area around downtown. What you can't see was the nail polish. |

I was there in April for a long weekend with the wife, stayed at The Foundry hotel and walked to shops/restaurants/breweries. We had a great time and didn't get hassled at all by any vagrants, maybe they were not around since it was unseasonably cold that weekend?

And i just got into nursing school there. My initial thought is it’s probably not worse than Memphis but not sure I want to bet on that. Any good FFLs in the area or ranges? Been in an awful drought living in woke county.

There is a private range run by Asheville rifle and pistol club and a public range way out in the boonies of Haywood county. PM me if you want any more info. |

They are all spread out though. Not much for ranges. There is a new one in McDowell County not too far from Asheville. I haven’t been there to speak on weather it’s a good one or not. The only one in Asheville is On Target. There’s a gun club on Brevard Rd. There’s another shop in Flat Rock with a range. Most people around here shoot on their own property or a friends property. |
