House bill 937 was ratified and mentioned above took effect October 1 this year.The online statutes have not been updated by the state yet but you can see the change in the law at HB937 Ratified and pay attention to the following section of that
SECTION 23. G.S. 113-291.1(c) reads as rewritten:
"(c) It is a Class 1 misdemeanor for any person taking wildlife to have in his the person's possession any:...... You'll see where the part about having a silencer has been lined through and thus deleted. The underlined items are what has been added. The changes are now in effect. |

Actually it is money, time and a sheriff who will approve you having one since it is a Class 3 device. Don't believe too many folks will be getting them. |
