If it is not exluded in the game regs or your county it should be fine. I also went through the game regs and .223 was not excluded by the state. Like you said counties have all sorts of odd rules ie minimum caliber, how high off the ground you have to be etc.

Yes it's legal but pleeaasseee make a good shot and use ammo that is made for hunting.

There are NO caliber restrictions on rifle deer hunting on a statewide basis.
Local and county laws may vary from state law though. There are caliber restrictions on pistols for deer hunting though. |
