I'm new to the forum here and live in Kernersville. A little about myself, I'm 25, work for Norfolk Southern Railroad, and I have too many interest including firearms (mostly military rifles). Been thinking about going down to Uwharrie some a do some shooting. I grew up in Star that was only like 20 minutes from the range down there. Thought I'd meet up with some new people locally that were into some of the same things. I have a AK-47 GP WASR-10, an M44 Mosin Nagant, older .22 LR, and a Romanian PSL Sniper Rifle (Romanian Dragunov) that I'm currently working a couple of bugs out of. Also coming soon is a 91/30 Mosin Nagant, a German K98 Mauser, an SKS, a K31 Swiss (possibly),  and a few others I've been looking at.

Five,
Did you make it to the last Uwharrie shoot? I am in Salem Quarter across the street from the little old Belews Creek Grocery. We defiantly need to hook up.

Nameifrats,
I am a member of Rockingham County Gun Club. It off of 158 and 29. They have a 200 yard rifle range if you want to zero that thing out. I have a Romanian that I have not shot yet and an XD9 that I am still breaking in. (Thanks for the Rangers G23!)

Hello & Welcome Namerifrats.

Hey Samuel, I just put in the paperwork to join RCGC. Maybe I'll run into you on the range. I'm guessing the ARFcomer's are easy to spot. They'll be the guys with two of everything.

If you guys get together at Uwharrie or RCGC or whatever give me a shout.  I might actually have something to shoot with in the next few weeks. <Insert Cuss Word(s) Here> backordered chrome-lined bbls!

Yeah, we spoke briefly.  I was wearing an A.R.M.S. Inc. T-shirt and spent most of my time at  the left side of the line with Sp00ky and u352.  Shoot me a PM sometime and we'll go shoot.  I'm off work every Friday and Saturday

Five,  When is the Walkertown range going to open up?
Will it be class 3 friendly?

Samuel, that 200 yd range in Rockingham county you mentioned, is it a private club range or public? What does it cost?

I'm a member at the Rock. The initiation fee is $100.00 then 84.00 a year.
We have a 200 yd. rifle range with 20 covered concrete benches. There's a large shelter behind the line for reloading, cleaning or BSing. 3 trap fields, 1 skeet field, 2 pistol pits and a 50 yard rimfire range with 10 covered benches. A modern bathroom with showers in on the property. A clubhouse to be built in the future. Gates have combo locks so you can come when you want only during daylight hours. email me for an application. So it's $100 up front, then $84 per year? Or $100 plus $84 up front?

It's $100.00 to join. $84.00 is prorated for whatever month it is. If you join in April it would be $163.00. $84.00 is then due in Dec06 for 2007 dues. Mike

Three weeks ago, me and few buddies were at the Pinnacle range doing a little bumping.  After about 10 or 15 mags we had someone (a local) ride down to the range and check us out.  He never said / asked anything about FA fire, really didn't say much at all.   After a couple minutes he left as quickly as he appeared.  Wierd, but ballzy!  Class 3 "friendly" ranges are probably far and few between.  It would be kick ass though.

Wheres the range at in Pinnacle? How big is it? What kind of rules/cost do they have there?

I'm not a member of the Pinnacle range, but I might just know a few of the "old timers" up there.  The following are my impressions, worth exactly what you paid for them:

1.  Doin da bump at Pinnacle is a good way to make a bad name for yourself or get tossed out.

2.  The "local" who rode out to see what was going on was either the owner of the farm or one of his workers, as they're not used to FA fire up there and you have to go through a locked gate to get to the range.

3.  The combo to the lock is known only to the owner of the farm and club members.

4.  There are better places to do da bump.

5.  A 2 liter Mountain Dew bottle full of homemade Tannerite will clear approximately a 25 foot circle of broomstraw and briars when detonated off a 2' stump.

+1 Sling........

Folks have to remember that the club doesn't own the range or the land. Folks around there are not used to hearing what might sound like full auto. I lost my rules so I can't remember if there is a rule about FA or not, but I would suggest not doing it.

Additionally, once you have your membership do not give out that gate combo to anyone.

Nothing about FA in the rules, I still have mine.  The "local" was pleasant, just curious.  Anyhow, go there on the second Saturday of each month around 10am and it sounds like a friggen war of full autos.  But I guess its OK when it's a match.

Hello Namerifrats.....

Welcome to K'Vegas. I am here also. I am also a member of RCGC and shot in a concealed match there a couple of weekends ago. Mike hooked me up with an application and a tour (thanks again Mike).

Drop a line whenever everyone is heading up. I am thinking about going up Saturday.

Welcome again,
