Yes Beaufort is a city. Or town more like it. Very quaint, lot's of big yachts moored out front, bars, restaraunts.
The Saniitary is a restaraunt in moorehead. Great Seafood. It's quite a ways to Kitty Hawk area, probably about 4 hours. |

THIS is a matter of opinion  It's OK at best. for cheap it is good, want better? Island grill in Atlantic Beach --- Follow signs for "Sportsmans Pier" Beaufort Grocery - Beaufort -- Superb food! these are my favs J-ville to OBX-- all day drive, or 3/4 day ferry rides. If diving is what yer after, stay near Morehead, OBX has nothing on us Ya know Blackbeards ship is wrecked here dont ya? H20 is gonna be coooooooold! hope ya got a 5 mil  |

As for the water temps, they are balmy and warm compared to what I have been diving the last month or so (Ice diving and the Arctic). I will be using a Dry Suit and we are hitting the deeper wrecks 180 - 200' Restraunts are what I am looking for, thanks for all the options. Looking forward to visiting your state. I have been to W.Virg, Virg, S. Carolina etc. just kept missing NC. |
