This morning my father, brother and I travelled to the Greensboro gun show.
we had gone up the aisle a little ahead of dad, and when he noticed we had settled into position at a table and were intently studying a rifle there. As he approached, he saw it was an SVT-40.
I let him know rather quickly, in a hushed voice that it was an all stamped matching, non-refurbed, Russian, with no import markings, and that such rifles were a tad rare.
My brother let him know that the dealer's asking price was exceedingly reasonable for such a rare rifle ($525).
Then the arm twisting began in earnest. we even got another collector/friend/shooting buddy on the cell phone to let him know what he thought of the deal.
SO in the end, he couldn't resist, and bought the unrefubed '41 Tula.
I'll have better pix up after I clean her up a bit, and get some daylight, but for now-

Later, when we ran into another collector we knew from the 'net, we told him about the other two SVT's, and he was off like a shot, and returned a bit later with a Korov in his hand.
All in all, a pretty good show. Greensboro is, in my opinion the best show in NC for milsurps on a consistent basis.
