.....he had my Form 1 signed in two days. And even though Asheville, which is where I live, is the one of the most left wing liberal meccas in the whole US, Bobby Medford doesn't have any problems signing my Form 1's. Next up for me is a few suppresors because I want to get him to sign-off on them before the next election happens just to be on the safe side.

Here are two of my SBR's, an H&K UMP and a Micro Galil:

And the next one, an SW-52X:

Thanks Sheriff Medford.

Do you do business with Phil on your NFA stuff?

BTW.....Congrats.  Very nice.

In addition, I get sick of reading about all the Asheville bashing.  Excellent point you make.  Buncombe is a great place to live.

Not yet. I might contact him here soon for a few UMP mags and maybe just to get a few prices on some suppresors.

He will treat you right.  He amazes me with all his connections.  Not a greedy guy either.  A definite asset to the community.

Drop me a line sometime.  We'll load up a bunch of stuff and head to Cullowhee.

I sure will. I'm going to take the UMP down to OnTarget probably on Saturday just because it's a .45 and I can use it there. I'm sure Jeff will freak out when he sees it.

Do me a favor, and ask Jeff if and when he is offering another CCW course.  I was in the very first class he offered back when CCW was passed years ago.  I want to go through it again with the wife.

You got it. BTW, what's Phil's e-mail these days? Is he on Mindspring or Charter?

I've been reaching him on charter lately.

Jim,
Really nice stuff. It's good to hear Medford
will sign off on the goods. Did you know him prior
to applying, or is he just that willing? I've been
wanting to do a 9mm SBR & suppress it, but I
simply haven't allotted (sp?) the money & time
to start it.
 Cope!
I saw some else on here with your Arfcom name,
& they mentioned that were in Wilmington! I'm glad
to see you are still here!
Lets get some guys together & set up a COF & run
it with carbines, etc!  Even if we do it just for fun, i.e. no
entry fee etc. Where could we do this?  I'm planning
on going to Wilkeboro & shoot some three gun matches
there, because no one is doing it around here, but I would
love to do something here!
I used to shoot my Oly 9mm at the IPSC matches at Rex's,
but that club lost the range. It was too much fun!
 Later!

Hey JC,

Good to see that you still drop in from time to time.  Been hoping to bump into you at the local shows.  How long have we been kicking around the idea of an informal carbine match?  I'm beginning to think that we are all hat and no cattle.  Last time I checked, I still had the 9mm Colt and HK94 that I would love to run through a carbine course or two.  Moss Knob in Cullowhee is my new favorite place to shoot outdoors.  Let's make a trip out there one day.  Last time I was there during the middle of the week we had the entire range to ourselves.  You could probably go through cashiers and be there in no time.

Oh that sux!
I was trying to cut & paste the
enclosed link & I lost a very lengthy
post!
Any way, here we go again!
Cope, the group that shot at Rex's
on Thurdays is now shooting on Sunday
afternoons in Lake Lure. The 4th Sunday
each month. I have been told that we can
run the COF with carbines, like we did at
Rex's.
I found the Walnut Grove Gun Range
in Bostic, NC in Ruf'ton county, & they shoot
a 3 gun match on the 5th Saturday (4 times
this year). It looks like short range stuff, but it
works for me. Its also a lot closer than Wilkesboro,
at least until I feel more confident that I've got the
right 3 gun gear.
My shooting is limited to weekends & holidays
due to the current  job status. Let me know
if you go to Moss Knob anytime soon.

Later!

When is the next show in AVL?

Johnny C! Out!

Jounny_C,

Walnut Grove isn't too far from my house here in Rutherfordton.

I've been to a couple of 3-gun shoots there.  They mostly do that Cowboy action shooting stuff  so they have a little false town built.  For the 3-gun you use the same town and they have up different targets.

It's pretty laid back and everyone that shot seemed to have fun.

Sounds like fun to me!
Let me know if you're going
to that first match. I intend
to be there...

Dang, now you have me combing the boards for a new Benelli.  I'm too lazy to rack the slide of my 590A1 in a match.  Those pics of Walnut Grove participants definitely seem laid back.

I really want to shoot carbine & pistol. I did the
12 ga kick a few years ago, but I prefer the carbine.
If I have to suffer with my old 870, so that I can shoot
my rifle, that's what I'll do. I did buy a 1100, or 1187
a few years ago, with the intention of tricking it out,
but had lost interest in scatterguns & sold it NIB.
Can't wait!
