A couple of friends and I are looking to get our carry permits.  Any one know about courses near Charlotte?  I've heard that Firepower and Shooter's Express offer them, but does anyone have any recommendations?

All thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.

I know Shooters Express gives a discount for multiple people taking the class. I think it's about $90 for one and $150 for two.  I haven't taken the class myself, but I know a few people that have.

EDIT:  I just went to their website.  $100 individual or $87.50 ea. if two or more register together.

Let me contact the guy I did my class with and see if he is still doing them.  It was 60 for a single person and 100 for 2.

Class is $60 per peson.
Held once a month.
Usually starts around 8:00 AM finishes up at the range around 3:00 - 4:00 depending in class size.
All you need to bring is hearing and eye protection, and your weapon and holster.(Must be unloaded for inspection during class).
Class is taught by Bill Ingram retired LEO.
He provides all paperwork you will need to go to your LEO for your fingerprinting etc to get your permit.
The range we do the shooting portion is about 1 mile form the shop where the class is held.
We are currently upgrading the range as well which when finished will have either 5 or 6 pistol bays under cover back to 20-25yds. and a 100yd rifle range as well.
Contact info if you are interested:
Sportsman's Dream
Phone # 704-538-0429 if busy 704-538-0427 (dad's business phone)
Who ever answers can give you the info on when the next class will be.
I can see if I can get a scan of the application for the class and email it to anyone interested or get it faxed to you to send us.

As for ammo, holsters, etc , we keep a good bit of  it on hand but if there is anything in particular you want us to make sure we have for your needs let me know.

I give you Primus...  My name is Mud

My name is mud
Not to be confused with bill or jack or pete or dennis
My name is mud and it’s always been
’cause I’m the most boring sons-a-bitch you’ve ever seen
I dress in blue-yes navy blue
From head to toe I’m rather drab except my patent shoes
I make ’em shine, well most the time
’cept today my feet are troddin’ on by this friend of mine
Six foort two and rude as hell
I got to get him in the ground before he starts to smell
My name is mud

My name is mud, but call me alowishus devadander abercrombie
That’s long for mud so I’ve been told
Told that by this sonsabitch that lies before me bloated blue and cold
I’ve got my pride, I drink my wine
I’d drink the finest except I haven’t earned a dime in several months
Or were it years
The breath on that fat bastard could bring any man to tears
We had our words, a common spat
So I kissed him upside the cranium with an aluminum baseball bat
My name is mud
