Had lunch there today

Best Brisket I've ever had.

Probably a good thing they are 2.5 hours from home.

Where else should I go?

I'm in Dallas County about 30 minutes North of Springfield.

Jousting Pigs has become my favorite. My girlfriend and I go about once a month or so. SLAPS and Smoking Guns are great too!

Good brisket doesn't have to sliced that thin.  They catered a gig for us a few months ago at KC P&L....not good.  But the time I ate at the original location south of town was pretty good.

Check out SLAPS BBQ just north of boulevard brewery.

I'll have to check them out.

Sugarfire will be first because I'm closest to them.

The hidden gem of KC BBQ is Wabash in Excelsior Springs.

Thin sliced brisket is an abomination.  I don't know why so many places do it.

I went a couple months ago with my girlfriend. It wasn't as good as I remember. We could have caught them on a bad day however. Still worth a try however. Hyvee now sells their sauces.

That sucks.  I know they've had staffing problems like everyone else.  I can't imagine that that would improve their food quality.

Its probably been at least a year since I've eaten there.  My wife got me a smoker a while back and its gotten to the point that I'd rather smoke my own than buy someone elses.

But yeah, their sauce is still tops.  I've tried to recreate it from scratch and just can't.

I need to try Slaps I’ve heard lots of good things about it. I like Wyandotte’s ribs. K&M in Spring Hill KS is my favorite bbq place.

I like Joe's but if you're even in downtown. St Augustine there is a place called MOJO that is fantastic.  Its across from Tolomato cemetery which has an interesting story behind it... let's just say our 3yo was pointing and trying to talk to something.  They say a boy passed there when he was young.  Only a few incidents of adult seeing his ghost but many kids have.  Neat area

The only well known place I've been to was Jack Stack.  Excellent but expensive.  The smaller places I've tried were good one day and crappy the next.

I think of equal importance to taste, is consistency in a restaurant.  I've never had a bad experience at Joe's, Jack Stack and Q39 so they are my top 3.
