One would have to argue that the poll is nothing more than a mechanism to collect views. The views? I'm not sure they say anything about freedom of choice... Maybe I'm applying a different view of freedom than you. Had the hypothetical owner of the thread been the only one contributing to it one might have some semblance of argument that it's their thread to do with what they want. If on the other hand it is locked due to dissent then I guess you'd have to level the criticism at the person requesting the lock not the dissenting opinions... maybe that is what you were suggesting and I misread your post (though "allegedly pro-freedom" leads me to think otherwise.) |
