Bought a 642 for my wife it needs the longer grips so you can get one more finger on it. It even bites me pretty good but I like it alot. Do they chamber the 642 in .327 Fed Mag.? I was surprised at the price of .38 special ammo I thought it would be in line with 9mm instead of as high as .40 S&W but I had not bought any.38 in 15years.

I have one oops I mean the wife has one we put the rubber pachmar grips on it and love it. but like every thing else these day we cant find ammo.

I have an older 442 Nickel model with the concealed hammer and the same Uncle Mikes "boot" grips. FWIW those are the absolute best grips for actual carry and shooting. I stoke mine with 129gn Hydra-shok +P rounds and when those run out I have a box of 147gn +P+ Hydra-shoks. 
The only mod done to mine is a Wolff spring kit and lots of dry-firing to smooth out the action. I plan to have the ramped front sight milled off and have a tritium sight dove-tailed into the rib atop the barrel as in this bad Paint mockup.

Its 637 in .38spl. I wanted an SP101 in .357, but had to wait and this was there so I'm sure I'll be happy with it. It does need longer grips. I think I'll order the ones from the S&W 22lr pistol for it. should be about perfect. I have thousands and thousands of cases for it so I should be good. I loaded up some 148gr lead wadcutters at about 750fps for it. should be a hoot to shoot.
