I think you did the right thing. She is alive. You are alive and have no legal issues.

Most folks would have and apparently DID stand idly by while she was getting pummeled you called the PD, since you really had no idea what the situation was if you had gotten in the middle and it turned out that he was her SO, and clown in the house was not then you would possibly have been in a situation that you didn't need to get in.
Say you draw down and he is her SO then she turns witness against YOU over everything... Yup you did the right thing. |

You did the right thing, because you didn't know the situation or the people.
You witnessed most of it, but what if you didn't........you just saw him hit her. You draw, he draws, bang. But the back story is she pulled a knife on him, then he hit her to defend himself, whatever--just don't know enough to make an INFORMED decision to justify threatening DEADLY force on behalf of another. My CCW is to protect myself and my family. I know we're innocent, so I can justify it; not with strangers though, no matter how bad it looks. Call the cops. You did the right thing. |

It sucks having to do the wrong thing and not help, but I agree with the others that you made the right choice. Where was her apt compared to yours?

The hood - KCMO can be rough - not saying that your hood isrough but it is a dangerous city. As a fellow CCW holder I say good call buddy.. Turned out. |
