Nope.. wont say anything until i hear for sure from Denny or someone from his shop. I do not want to move this rumor along any further... Once i get answers, and permission, I will let you guys know... I buy from him and dont wanna piss him off at me if what I heard turns out to be a bunch of busy bodies... |

I haven't been in a shop for a few days...heck month or two actually, but I have a friend that frequents them, and knows several owners and gunsmiths in the area. If there's something afoot, he would have mentioned it to me. So....I guess this is a tag for THE END OF THE 2nd A! or whatever.

Nope.. not even he cool kids get to hear about it. I dont want to propagate this *story* until i know some details. I have asked Denny's to respond and let me know if there is any substance to what was said.. I am just thinking that at this point that there is some scuttlebutt amongst several of the shops... I hope this is the case. |

its not about HIM or how he runs his business.. I agree great guy! This isnt a rant, I was wanting to see if any one else may have heard what I heard.. if you did then you would have known. THis definatly went a route I didnt want it to. I should hae known everyone would have been thinking the worst... not trying to start or propagate a rumor, just trying to see if anyone else had heard. I am sending a message to eric to have him lock this, until I get feed back from Denny, I shot him a couople of messages and am awaiting his response, I sent him a link to this thread as well. |

FIne FIne... you konw what, I sent him a link.. F-it.. here is what was said...
Three stores .. two in NKC and one in Olathe all said that they heard through the grape vine that Dennys got hit on a ATF audit and that they were given a date that they will be shut down.. actually one of the ones up on North Oak (actually not in NKC but in Gladstone) said that he had heard that Dennys was shut down all together. Of course I had just came from there, and the guys were all chipper as usual. What makes me nervous is that all three of these shops said this, in unsolicited forums... the first was directly to me.. I asked for some AK mags, he said he didnt have htem, I said, ohh, weill I better haul ass to Dennys, he said "aint going to do you any good, they are closed, ATF shut em down" I said, well i just left there, so if the ATF did shut them down then they reopened... Second shop looking for ammo, over heard the gun clerk and a customer talking about Dennys getting hit in an audit and they were pulling his FFL... (hearsay) Third was this morning, dropping off a gun to repair, asked where I got the muzzle break on my Gun, I said Dennys they said .. you heard about what happened there right? ATF got him.. pulling his FFL... I said, BS, i was there yesterday... I just wanted to see if you guys may have heard the same thing.... I am hoping that it isnt true.. because that would be a travesty. Dennys is a great shop and it sucks if this is indeed true. There.. now you guys can all sleep better... |

Two of the three said they heard it effected both sides of the biz. I am glad it wasnt only me on this board that heard this. Its BS... the gestapo going after our guns again.. if they wipe out the dealers then we cant get guns any more!!!! |

I was at Denney's a few days ago, just after this happened and this is what I was told by one of their employees (Old White haired guy with a beard who's always there and grumpy).
Denny's guns NOT DENNY/ GLOBAL TACTICAL SYSTEMS is getting their license pulled, he told me that the shop won't close it's just going to have to sell its murchandise to a new owner/FFL holder. AGAIN GLOBAL TACTICAL SYSTEMS (GTS) IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. The guy that owns Denny's Guns just rents the building from Denny of GTS and he had or is having his license revoked. Unless somethings changed the employee I spoke to said they have 60 (or 90?) days to shut the shop down or transfer it to a new FFL holder/owner. This is only what I was told, nothing more, nothing less... Jerad |

Denny is so busy running GTS that he can hardly find time to check his blood sugar. I can only imagin he isn't interested in running Denny's guns I'll bet that's why he sold the name and shop so many years ago. However, I could very well eat crow who knows

Sounds like Chuck is in trouble! Denny sold the retail store to him YEARS ago, around the time they moved to the current location. As to the comment that both businesses are in trouble..........B.S.

Duke had it right. I am a FFL and if you dont dot every I and cross every T, big brother will try and shut you down. I am sure they were doing a legit biz and it will all blow over. Thanks for clarifying the situation. I hate to hear this shit, but it does happen. |

Confirmed! It's the retail shop owned by Chuck. This has NOTHING to do with Denny's Gun/GTS. BATFE has revoked the FFL for the retail shop.

Not a fan of the formerly run by chuck retail denny's. They screwed me out of some money spent on destructively poor gunsmithing, and my desire to ever own another 1911. |
