I know all the SHTF questions are a little played out, but i've got to ask the MO group what you guys would do. My friends were all talking about what they would do if a bad crisis occured, and lets just say i wont be taggin along with them. but in all reality id like to see what you guys plan to do so i can avoid getting myself shot

Well lets see. I live just a few miles from a mine that has been turned into a large refrigerator. Suppose me and a few boys might want to go over younder and see if we can help guard some of the food stuffs. Be a plenty to eat, just will need to defrost it first. There are advantages to living out a bit from the big city. Just as long as I can fill up my gas cans and keep the well pump running for water, ma and I can last a bit out here. Just have to kill off the few dogs running wild so that the wild life will come back around. Dang dogs chased off the deer that used to stroll over to our pond.

This reminds me, got to get reloading bench cleared and back to loading some ammo, rifle, pistol and shotgun..

I am from OK and my family has some land there in the country.  I would probably load up and head out there.  Still a functional well and plenty of wildlife.  My family could survive out there for quite a while.  Also a few un visited caves and caverns here and there that could be used for safe storage or a bunker.  I also keep a BUG out pack ready to go with plenty of ammo available.  The diesel benz that can run off of waste veggie oil keeps the fuel shortage worries to a minimum for me.

As a land owner in Missouri with caves on my property I will say you had better be careful what caves you go to!

Don't wanna hyjack the thread but since we are talking about caves, anyone around here ever go Spelunking?  There are a few caves/caverns near my land in OK I like to repel into and explore.  Nothing very big though.  Looks like someone had been there before me as there was 1976 painted on the wall.  It was pretty deep down to the bottom too, about 80 foot.  Always lookin for some caves to check out and I know there are alot in SW MO area.  Just haven't found any that I can check out yet.

Following Dukes Lead... I would call in sick or come on home... turn on the news for as long as that would last clean my favorite gun, load some magazines pack my gear, and wait..... I might forego the popcorn... there are a few folks I would check on as soon as I was able too. then we might well find somewhere to go... probably the shop would be stop number 3 or 4 Duke knows why....

The Guns are already ready, so thats covered.

I would then just get on the computer.

Let's see...go to the vault, load mags and belts,  select my fovorite guns, position guns/mags/belts in strategic locations, contact like minded friends and determine the best plan to protect ourselves from the current threat.

NOT!

ScottMO,

The East side is a good choice...a 200-400 yard killing field.  I would let you use the Barrett for that zone of protection.

I'll be holding my ground. Somewhere I heard that in those types of 'scenarios' any one with a gun might encounter about 8 live fire incidents, all expending no more than 10-20 rounds per incident.

I think I'm ready for about a few thousand 'incidents'.

Bret,

I won't be heading over to your house if SHTF. I would just get lost and end up at you father-in-laws house (again).

I'd stop by the store and pick up a 12 pack of beer first. Otherwise, about the same . . .

Depending on what kind of SHTF, I'd probably just go outside to watch the fireworks.

Otherwise, probably just bug-in.

Nice looking car there =P  I've got minimal plans laid out in regards to shtf, but i'd like to think with some extra beer, milk and eggs I'd be ok.

Ok then, for this topic we sall "pretend" that something along the lines of Red Dawn, or civil war or even an event where like 5-6 major citys are nuked. However these events are going to be long term events..............NOT a sudden death type thing, for example an astreoied impacting w/ earth. Has anybody ever thought about what would happen during a world wide drout, where water might be worth more then gold.

I'm offering a new service for those that are interested.  This has been tested in our wind tunnel with great results.  This will increase your top speed by 5 MPH and save you money on gas by increasing your MPG by 3 MPG.

So your asking yourself what does it cost for this service.  Well I've got a deal for you...

All you have to do is furnish your car and a case of ammo (caliber should be selected based on our tuning chart for your specific car to maximize your performance).  We'll do the rest...all the work is free of charge and we'll even let you participate for a small fee.

We've got a waiting list a mile long but if you act now we may be able to work you in next week.  We will be lining up our customer cars in priority order and have made arrangements for a belt fed device to aid us in catching up on our back log...so act fast if you want to get in the front row.
