Well guys, I got sworn in today at the Missouri Supreme Court and also across the street in the chamber of the MO House of Representatives (for federal stuff, I applied for licenses to practice in both Eastern and Western federal district courts as well as the state courts). Today was probably the single biggest day of my adult life. It finally sunk in, I really do feel different now than I did yesterday--somehow I'm standing up a bit straighter, and I feel a bit more serious. Don't worry though, I'll always be a crazy knucklehead at the MODCC shoots, I thought of the infamous ski mask run and smiled a bit on the inside when Chief Justice Williams was doing his speech and got to the part about "never do anything that demeans the dignity of our profession" and so on.
www.hunt101.com/img/099061-big.JPGI want you guys to know that I appreciate the support you all have shown me at every turn. Missouri members here have encouraged me constantly in my pursuit of this goal. When I was stressed and down, when I flunked the bar exam and had to pick myself up by the bootstraps, you guys were there, every one, telling me that I could do it.
Here I am signing the roll of attorneys. I've been wanting to do that for quite awhile now. There are some seriously prestigious names in that book.
Here are Morgan and I on the steps of the Supreme Court, with the MO State Capitol behind us. She bought a new dress for today and I have to say she looked very "Jackie O" to my eye.
