BE SURE TO DRINK
YOUR OVALTINE
Ok, just kidding, I just put my Little Orphan Annie decoder ring away, and here are the real scores!
These are adjusted times, as you recall, a headshot or a hit within the X or 9 area added 0 seconds to your time. A hit in the 8 or 7 added 3, and a complete miss added a full 10 seconds to your time. The best two hits were scored, meaning that if a target wasn't engaged at all, +20 seconds for you! After factoring in accuracy in this manner, the winner is the shooter who took the least amount of adjusted time to complete the course of fire.
That person is John Overstreet, the overall winner, who blazed through the COF in 33 seconds and had only 4 shots which were not perfect, (+3), giving him an adjusted time of only 45 seconds! Here are the rest of the scores:
Place Gun Name Time
1 AR15 John 45 sec
2 SAR-1 Marshall 50 sec
3 SAR-2 Mike (me) 55 sec (Wolverines!)
4 AR15 Ken 56 sec
5 Mp5 Jeff 1 min
6 AR15 Eric W. 1 min 1 sec
7 CETME Brett 1 min 3 sec
8 M17 Klaus 1 min 10 sec
9 FAL Ozy 1 min 11 sec
10 AR15 Chris F. 1 min 15 sec
11 P90 Matt 1 min 25 sec
12 AR15 Jason 1 min 27 sec
13 M16 Chris 1 min 31 sec
14 G3 Erik K. 1 min 39 sec
15 AK(7.62) Mike B. 1 min 40 sec
16 UZI John 1 min 45 sec
17 ENFIELD GaryM 1 min 46 sec
18 SKS Joshua 1 min 50 sec
A few observations:
1. GaryM gets the style award for running with an Enfield No.5 "Jungle Carbine" bolt action with only one mag. Similarly, Joshua (Hellion) would have done much better with a gun that you can actually reload. Someone get that man a stripper clip, STAT!
2. Maybe there is a point to all that shit that Marshall (Metalman) has hung off of his SAR-1. /me high fives Metalman-- "en fuego", baby!
3. In this format I think its clear that full auto really doesn't have any advantage. We are looking for quick AND accurate shooting--the full auto guns generally had the lowest uncorrected times, and some of the highest adjusted times. That's why they call it spray and pray I guess.
Thanks to all who participated!
