My hearing has gotten really bad the last couple of months, to the point that I'm missing out on conversations or constantly have to ask people to repeat what they just said. Irritating as crap for both sides of the question.

So does anyone have a recommendation for a good audiologist and/or hearing aid specialist? I'm really looking for someone that can take a good hearing test, come up with a good prescription and not just want to high pressure-sell me some hearing aids.

Thanks,

McFeely in Huntsville. Decent otologist and should point you in the right direction.

Generally speaking, you'll get a better deal with less high-pressure sales when you're buying from an audiologist that works for a physician. Because they're making money in other ways, not just selling hearing aids.

That's the conclusion I'm coming to.

Anyone watch the Dr. Cliff videos on YT; tons of them going through all the technology of hearing aids, the good, bad, the ugly of Costco and Apple Ear Buds etc. etc.

Another suggestion is to go shop at Costco.

Ended up going to Dr. Susan at AL Hearing Associates in Madison.  Got a pair of Oticon More #1s.  Couldn't be happier.

Make sure you pick someone who a) sells unlocked hearing aids and b) follows Best Practices, especially a Real Hearing Test to program your hearing aids for best performance for your hearing.
