The CMP range is very close to Anniston, just south of I-20 a stones throw from Talledega. It’s worth a visit for sure. If you aren’t equipped to shoot on the range they still have the CMP store there to check out.

There's a guy just west of Anniston that lets you drive a tank.
 P.S. Oxford is where most of the restaurants are but Weird things happen in Oxford.

Mata’s for Greek pizza. Better call about 30-45 minutes ahead.
Don’t hang out in Anniston after dark. Or much during the day. |

Ditto on the Berman Museum. Also check out the Museum of Natural History on the same property.
North of there about ten minutes away in Weaver is Exile Armory gun shop. Great prices. Just south of the museums is Top of the River catfish restaurant. Eaten there many times. That big mountain several mile south of of the Oxford/Anniston area is Cheaha State park. Nice overlooks up there. As mentioned, CMP Marksmanship Park is a few miles west of Oxford. It is like a ritzy country clup for shooting. |

Nocalulla Falls is about 45 min away from Anniston. A drive up Bains Gap in Ft McClellan is a nice little drive too.

If you're a Nascar race fan Talledega racetrack is nearby and there is a motorsports hall of fame.
If you're a motorcycle fan the barber museum in Leeds is one of a kind and only about 45 minutes away. PLus, there's a Buc-ees' |
