BURKE, WILLIAM (WILL) ELTON JR., died June 12, 2009. He was born on December 3, 1966, the son of Mary Compton Burke and William Elton Burke, Sr., who preceded him in death. Will was a 1985 graduate of Briarwood High School and Jacksonville State University in 1991. He was an avid sportsman and hunter, having worked at Marks' Outdoors for many years and most recently as manager of the hunting department at the new Bass Pro Shop in Leeds. He is survived by his wife, Leah Starrett Burke; sons, Stonewall Starrett Burke and William Bedford Burke; sister, Nina Burke Halbert (Ray); and several nieces and nephews. Will was a devoted father and will be missed greatly. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist, Trussville on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Bill Brunson officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the boys' scholarship fund may be made to First United Methodist Church of Trussville.
